New Staff Members & Volunteers
EDI Induction training will aim to raise awareness amongst employees and volunteers within the youth service, from workers on the ground to administrative and support staff, around key areas of legislation, including Equal Opportunities, Good Relations and United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, and relating these specifically to working within a Northern Ireland context.
We hope to develop an interactive training package that will highlight common myths and misconceptions and challenge prejudice towards individuals and groups who are perceived to be different. The essence of this training will be to encourage participants to promote fairness in their working practices, value diversity (and encourage others that they work with to do the same), and to realise our interconnectedness and the added benefits of working in partnership with others.
